Could it be the result that kick-starts Villarreal's season. Tenerife had beaten Xerez last week were blown away by Villarreal's performance. Joseba Llorente opened the scoirng after 16 minutes which shook Tenerife's plans. It stayed like that until two minutes into the 2nd half when Robert Pirés found the net. Five minutes later Giuseppe Rossi made it 3-0 and ended the game as a contest. Seconds later Llorente got his 2nd of the afternoon before Rubén Cani sealed the scoring with a 5th in the final minute.
A big defeat for Tenerife while Villarreal can look upwards now.
