Bottom club Málaga managed the get a point for their efforts as they travelled to the Canaries. Tenerife themselves were looking for the three points which appeared to be in the bag for much of the game.
Roman Martínez gave the islanders the lead on 18 minutes before Alejandro Alfaro made it 2-0 to Tenerife nine minutes later. Edinho pulled one back just two minutes after as the Tenerife went 2-1 up at the break.
It looked like Tenerife would hold out for the three points until Francisco López levelled for Málaga on 77 minutes.
