Atlético Madrid were forced to snatch a point just as Chelsea looked as taking all three here at the Vicente Calderon. Atlético Madrid had to get the three points to prolong their campaign but with Porto victorious in Cyprus against APOEL it mains that qualification is now out of reach for the last 16. The battle for the Europa League place though is very much on with them just a point ahead of APOEL Nicosia.
Sergio Aguero had given Atlético the lead on 66 minutes which had it stayed that way would've kept Atlético in the competition. Didier Drogba, back from his 3-game suspention for last year's showing in the semi-final levelled with eight minutes to go before he gave Chelsea the lead six minutes later. But Atlético were determined to make a point for their efforts and Sergio Aguero got his 2nd of the night in added time to salvage a point.
