Villarreal's season appears to be getting back on track. Having beaten Tenerife 5-0 last weekend the Yellow Submarine gave Lazio their own domolition here. Robert Pirés gave the Spaniards the lead after just two minutes before their lead was doubled on 13 minutes through Cani. Pirés made it 3-0 from the penalty spot two minutes later. Mauro Zaraté pulled one back on 72 minutes before Villarreal restored their three goal lead. Giussepe Rossi making it 4-1 with an 83rd minute penalty.
Villarreal join Lazio in 2nd with six points behind group leaders Salzburg who have twelve points.
