Champions League chasing Valencia re-claimed 4th place having lost it on Saturday night thanks to Deportivo's success. It took just twelve minutes for David Villa to make his mark on the game by giving Valencia the lead before David Albelda made it 2-0 eight minutes later.
Carlos Marchena's goal on 56 minutes made ti 3-0 and game safe for Valencia despite, Iranian Massoud Shojaei pulling a goal back for the hosts on 68 minutes, having gone down to ten men three minutes before with Walter Pandiani.
To make matters worse for the hosts they were reduced to nine-men when Miguel Flano was shown red in added time.
