Champions League action

All four Spanish sides had mixed results this week and the shock without a doubt was Sevilla's failure to beat Romanian Champions Unirea Urziceni. The Andalusians knew anything from the tie in Romania would secure top spot but the win leaves Unirea within a point of the Last 16 themselves.

Barcelona:
Barcelona came out on top against Inter Milan. The 2-0 scoreline was enough to see Barcelona move top with just one game left in the group away to Dynamo Kiyv in two weeks time. Goals from Gerard Piqué and Pedro Rodríguez were enough for Barcelona.

Real Madrid:
Real Madrid took a top spot in their group ahead of aC Milan after a 1-0 win over Swiss champions FC Zurich. The Swiss came to Madrid with three points on their minds and only for a Gonzalo Higuaín strike they would've got one. Chances for Madrid were not taking and Marcelo hit the post but a deserved victory that also saw Cristiano Ronaldo return after a month and a half on the sidelines.

Atlético Madrid:
Atlético were pushed all the way by Cypriot champions APOEL Nicosia. The hosts took the lead through Nenad Mirosavljevic. Atlético though kept in the game and got their rewards when Simao slotted home. The results means the Europa League place is still not decided.

Sevilla:
Sevilla travelled to Romania looking for the result that would secure top spot and that didn't happen. The Romanians have shown this season they can cut it in Europe and took a massive scalp here. An Ivica Dragutinovic own goal was the difference on the night despite a 2nd half of Sevilla dominence. Although Sevilla are already through top spot hasn't been secured yet which will go to the Romanians should they win and Sevilla lose in two weeks time.
