Finally Atlético Madrid are out of the relegation zone and they got their victory in some style. It was a good win for the hosts as they have endured a difficult season so far with the club out of the champions league as a result.
Diego Forlán got the ball rolling for Atlético on 27 minutes before Sergio Aguero made it 2-0 on 62 minutes. The Argentinian got his 2nd as Atlético went 3-0 up on 86 minutes before another Argentine Maxí Rodríguez made it 4-0 with a minute remaining. Facundo Roncagila was sent-off for Espanyol, who had a poor night.
