Back after the international break the league plays host to what could be a vital weekend with both Real Madrid and Barcelona in action.
Deportivo v Atlético Madrid: 18:00:
Atlético Madrid visit Galicia to play Deportivo in a game that is a must-win for the Madrid side. Currently in the relegation zone, Atlético need to pick up points if they are to challenge for European places for next season. Deportivo themselves are going strong in 5th but also need the points to move up into the top 4 for tonight at least.
Tenerife v Sevilla: 18:00:
Sevilla go to Tenerife knowing that they are the favourites to win. Tenerife have been better at home than away and will pose a treat to the Andalusians. Tenerife, held by Málaga in their last game two weeks ago need the points to move away from the drop zone.
Real Madrid v Racing Santander: 20:00:
Real Madrid have an oppertunity to go top of the league for a few hours before Barcelona play. Racing Santander are the visitors this week who are 17th in the league and struggling so far. Racing's new boss Miguel Portugal has hardly had any time to settle in having taken charge during the week. Raúl Albiol, Van Nistelrooy, Lassana Diarra and Cristiano Ronaldo are all out for the hosts.
Athletic Bilbao v Barcelona: 22:00:
A vital game for the visitors as they will be aiming to hold onto their lead at the top with victory in Bilbao. The Basques will be no pushovers as the San Mamés is a tough place to get a result. The visitors are without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Éric Abidal, Rafael Márquez and Yaya Touré tonight while the hosts are waiting on Fernando Llorente and Gaizka Toquero, who face fitness tests today.
