The Sunday evening kick-off saw bottom club Málaga host a Valencia side that have Sevilla and Real Madrid in striking distance. Valencia scored the only goal of the game through David Navarro, back after a spell with Real Mallorca on 69 minutes. Málaga had chances later on in the match but failed to take any of them as they remain at the foot of the table. Valencia meanwhile are 4th a point behind Sevilla in 3rd.
