Espanyol suffered a 2nd 4-0 defeat in a row when Racing Santander turned on the style. Amazingly it was 0-0 at half-time. The visitors took a deserved lead on 49 minutes through Henrique. Racing went 2-0 in front on 52 minutes thanks to Sergio Canales before Mohammed Tchité converted a 72nd minute penalty to put Racing 3-0 up.
Canales then got his 2nd goal of the night four minutes after Thcité's penalty which sent the home crowd out in disappointment.
